Our Teen Program fosters camper resilience, creativity and integrity through progressive relationship-based leadership to inspire confidence, self-advocacy and community empowerment.
Our Teen Program expands on the fun of previous summers at Timber Lake West, introducing new programs, electives and activities into their schedule, while also providing flexibility along with additional privileges and great social opportunities! We are proud that we continue to attract returning older campers year after year. Even with all of the other choices high school-aged children have in today’s world, the large majority of our campers choose to return to Timber Lake West until the end of their camping career.
The Teen summer program begins with diverse programming, more day trips out of camp, more choice and flexibility daily, a later wake-up (they ARE teenagers, after all), many community service opportunities and strong staff and supervision.
Our Leadership Training Program is designed for our Teens who are looking to come back to camp as Junior Counselors. Teens help out in various roles – coaching and refereeing lower camp’s athletic leagues, participating in our Big Brother/Big Sister program, while also giving a hand in the bunks. These positions help get them ready for the following summer and allow them to give back to the place they’ve called their summer home for so many years.
Concerts, Water Parks/Amusement Parks, Movies and more! We also offer a two-day extended trip each summer, alternating between a Whitewater Rafting trip or a trip to Hershey/Dorney Parks.
Our Ready For Life Program does exactly that; it prepares Teens for life in the real world. They’ll learn how to approach job interviews, get some tips for applying to colleges, master some recipes while cooking, practice the skills of good decision-making, and learn ways to navigate through a host of social issues.
